Painting

I also paint occasionally, almost always with acrylics, but also using pen & ink, or sumi-e methods. Have a look at my Gallery for some of my recent paintings.

Sustainability

I try to minimise my impact on the planet by applying sustainable principles to my practice.

I use both sides of scrap paper for tests, cleaning up etc. before recycling it
All paper, card & plastic waste is recycled
Cleaning wipes are saved for second use as painting rags or ink clean up rags
I buy vintage and previously-used frames from charity & thrift stores to display my art, currently in The Patch, Lewes - fixing & restoring frames where possible
Printing inks clean up either with dish detergent (Caligo Safewash) or cooking oil (oil-based & metallic inks), avoiding anything harsher
I don't use any additional drying additives
I paint on repurposed wood and similar surfaces when I can find them
I re-use packaging materials when sending art out, as much as possible - so please do the same! I try to buy recyclable padded envelopes and use cardboard for added strength.
